Urban Planning Services

The Technical Department / Urban Planning Division is responsible for reviewing proposed building plans on vacant land and verifying the compliance of existing unlicensed buildings, as well as subdividing buildings under the apartment system.
The division aims to achieve a well-organized urban environment in accordance with the provisions of the Cities, Villages, and Buildings Organization Law, while facilitating citizens’ transactions in line with applicable regulations and laws.

It also studies the structural plans of urban areas, introducing the required modifications in accordance with social, economic, environmental, and population development needs. The proposed amendments are presented to the local committees for approval.
The division’s work also includes archiving planning and subdivision transactions, recording all related data such as plot and district numbers, ensuring data accuracy, verifying building areas (existing and proposed), following up on planning approvals, and correcting and updating structural plans.

The average number of planning site maps per year for the years 2018–2022 reached 2,000, while the average number of planning transactions was 24 per year. In addition, an average of 223 building permits were issued annually.
