Al-Shouneh Al-Wusta Municipality

Al-Shouneh Al-Wusta Municipality was established in 2001 (classified as a second-category municipality) following the decision of the Council of Ministers No. (16327) dated 22/7/2001, which included the merger of the following municipalities:
Southern Shouneh, Al-Kafrein, Al-Rawdah, and Al-Rameh.
Al-Shouneh Al-Wusta Municipality is located in the south of Balqa Governorate within the Southern Shouneh District. It is responsible for providing municipal services and organizing public activities in this important agricultural region of the Kingdom. The municipality is distinguished by its agricultural nature and its location in the Central Jordan Valley, well known for the production of vegetables and fruits throughout the year. It is also close to major tourist attractions such as the Dead Sea, one of the world’s most famous tourist destinations attracting visitors from many countries.
